Before moving to his coveted position at Evil Angel, Jules Jordan made a name for himself at Pleasure Productions and Rosebud. Rosebud has finally released the premiere installment of Heavy Metal on DVD, and I must say, this one’s a keeper. I’m not sure if this is was Jules first time working with Lex, but it certainly shows why they’ve teamed up several times since thenmore….
Alexandra Nice starts things off in a great scene that actually starts out as a less than innocent interview. When the questioning finally gets down to Lex’s legendary size, a hands-on demonstration proves to be quite informative and fulfilling. Fortunately, Alexandra doesn’t draw the line at simply handling Lex’s 11-inch shaft; she immediately pops it into her mouth in a fruitless but valiant attempt to swallow it. Although her mouth can’t handle the full length and girth of his package, she’s a bit more successful when she bends over and allows Lex to pound her from behind. Though even this can’t prepare you for the intensity of Alexandra’s reverse cowgirl ass slamming session. As if by magic, Lex’s full length disappears and faithfully reappears with each stroke as he slams it deep inside her ass. Lex closes out the scene by delivering a sticky load across Alexandra’s pretty face…an incredible scene.
Unlike Alexandra, Justine Romee enters her scene with no false pretenses. This was the first time I wondered if Lex ever considered insuring his cock. When they get to the house, Adriana teases the camera a bit before continuing with her cock sucking duties. Surprisingly the two hadn’t worked together before this scene, making it a genuine original encounter for both performers…and the viewer too. Even though the predictable chain of events is getting a little old by now, Taylor’s gorgeous body more than makes up for the monotony. Unfortunately, this scene suffers from some bad lighting conditions, obscuring a bit of the action in shadow. Still, watching Taylor take Lex’s full length up her ass is most impressive; this one’s up there with Alexandra’s scene.
Since Rosebud is fairly new at producing DVDs I wasn’t expecting much from this release. To my surprise, this is one of the more technically astute gonzo DVD’s I’ve seen. Although the video is occasionally over or underexposed, the digital transfer is extremely crisp throughout the whole feature. The audio track sounds good too, featuring a subtle music track that plays through the scenes. I usually don’t like music in gonzo productions, but it works pretty well here and never masks or competes with the natural sounds. Gonzo titles are traditionally short in the extras category, but this one has a few trailers, a photo gallery, and a nice behind the scenes featurette that runs for about 18 minutes. The featurette is more like a raw compilation extra footage comprised of shots that weren’t used in the final cut for one reason or another. Still it’s still a nice addition.
So, are Jules and Lex the next Buttman and Rocco? They’ve got a ways to go, but time will tell. Heavy Metal is a great anal themed gonzo selection with a wonderful cast and some creative camera work. However, the title is a bit too structured and lacks the pure spontaneity of a gonzo classic. The car ride segment in Adriana’s scene was nice, but the other scenes could have benefited from something similar. Despite this minor complaint, Heavy Metal is a great movie and DVD. I impatiently await the sequel’s release.
