If you're looking for something a little different, Private's Pirate label always provides a fine mix of fetish, hardcore, and the downright bizarre. This time around, Jose M. Ponce (Faust: The Power of Sex) is behind the camera for this episode of the Pirate Fetish Machine line. Shot in Barcelona, Ponce's main inspiration for The Fetish Garden was architect Antoni Gaudi's colorful and surreal Park Güell. This location is actually used in a few non-hardcore sequences. Ponce's concept for The Fetish Garden sounds a bit like Dante's Inferno, with various stages. Apparently, womenmore… should strive for the third level where they become human plants and trees. Sound weird? Well it is, but there's plenty of hot action and tons of interesting visuals to keep things interesting.
Instead of the usual isolated vignette pieces, each scene is somewhat linked together by a running voice over of a woman. We first encounter this female voice in a fetish bar where a girl (Malena Conde) lies back on a table while a crowd gathers around. The voice over describes the taste and texture of cum as Malena takes on several facials. Most of these facials are fake, as revealed in the Making Of featurette, but a few are genuine pop shots.
The action eventually fades into the first full scene where we see Stacy Silver dressed in a red PVC outfit, dangling from a swing-like harness attached to the ceiling of a dungeon. A blonde mistress watches from a distance and eventually moves over to fondle Stacy's exposed breasts. The mistress backs off as a masked man moves into position. Stacy gives him an awesome blowjob with some heavy handwork and great eye contact. With Stacy still attached to the swing, the guy moves in behind her and stuffs her pussy in a standing doggy setup. This continues for several minutes until the guy pulls out and squirts his load on Stacy's bare ass cheeks.
In the next scene, Malena Conde and Bibian Norai walk into a dungeon where they encounter a man strapped to a bed. In an adjacent room, Claudia Claire and Miercoles get intimate in a dark room surrounded by candles. These two side-by-side girl-girl encounters make for some interesting visuals, but come up a bit short on the action. There's the usual fingering and licking, but nothing really gets hot till Miercoles and Claudia arrange themselves in a 69. The scene concludes as the separate couples finger each other.
Christina Bella and Claudia Claire continue their journey through the fetish garden in the next scene as they crawl through a dungeon toward a couple of guys. A girl strapped to a wall and another girl in a cage look on as Claudia and Christina go to work on these guys' cocks. Each girl handles their respective cock incredibly well, keeping up a solid pace throughout the blowjob sequence. Then both girls get bent over for some doggy action. Christina eventually gets fucked in a reverse cowgirl and a spoon position, but Claudia remains in the doggy setup for the duration of the scene. We catch-up with Stacy Silver again in the last scene. Apparently she's about ready to partake in her final test. Private's DVDs are usually high quality, but the skipping problem during the second scene is a bit unsettling. Still, the rest of the disc looks great thanks to an anamorphic transfer. Despite the high-end transfer, the image quality still suffers a bit during the dark scenes, exhibiting some noticeable pixelation and less than solid blacks in the background. The sound is also quite good with good mixing between the voice over, natural sounds, and the inclusion of some post production music and sound effects. There's plenty of extras to look at too including a Making Of featurette (16 min.) and interviews with Bibian, Malena, and Claudia (20 min.). Less impressive are the trailers, photo galleries, production notes, and cast filmographies, but they round out the disc nicely.
I'm not sure if porn is the right medium for Ponce's artistic vision, but Private is a great source of funding. The Fetish Garden certainly isn't for everyone, but it does offer some interesting visuals and high production values. The prematurely cut three-way with Bibian and Malena is a definite let down but maybe Private can correct this in future pressings.
